Citizen All

In my previous blog post, Citizen One, I discussed individuality; how we are a breathing, living, loving person existing in this world. How we are unique yet united through this bond we share, this bond of citizenry. To clarify exactly what citizen means (I'm sure we all know but just for clarification) here is the definition: a native or naturalized member of a state or nation who owes allegiance to its government and is entitled to its protection. This comes straight from dictionary.com. Now this definition fits perfect with being a Christian and in fact just being a person in general. With the change of a few things it goes like this: a native member of the Kingdom of God who owes allegiance to God and is given protection by Him. That is being a citizen of God. A citizen is not meant to be alone though, the Kingdom of God is not meant to be empty. That is why we are all citizens of His Kingdom in Heaven (eventually) but also right now here on this earth -remember, the Kingdom of God is within you -Luke 17:21- So within this individuality is this unity or vice versa. We...we are one people equally created in the Lord. In my last post Citizen One I said I will tell you what Paul did to improve the present moment uniting people. Here is what he did..."For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them." This is how we improve the present moment dear brothers and sisters! Unity and servanthood! Paul tells us he makes himself like other people, the people that have yet to see the beautiful love of Christ! Now does that mean he becomes like the sinners and sins? Certainly not because that would be counter effective to the purpose God has give him. A good example is he may make himself poor like poor people to better understand them, be like them, and through this he would probably have a better chance of winning them over to Jesus. Now am I saying to you you should become poor so God can save people. No, what I'm saying is everyone's circumstances and situations are different so the type of servanthood like this may differ but always have compassion and understanding for and of people. A great way to do this is by simply having friendship with them. Through being a servant of Christ and having a humble heart friendship will come and be glorifying to Him and hopefully, through time, winning people over to Jesus. So the overall message I wish to convey is we are all citizens of God individually yet together as one. Dear friends I pray you ponderUpon these things God has given to me to say and pray how you through Him can improve the present moment!
