Republicans vs Democrats: How America's Two Parties Align with Scripture
America has two major parties: the Republicans and the Democrats. These parties have changed over the course of their inception but has their stance on Biblical values changed?
The United States was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Prager University has a great video explaining the founder's views on their faith which I suggest you watch before proceeding with this post.
The Declaration of Independence opens with, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness..." The Declaration of Independence derives this statement from Ecclesiastes 3:13 and Galatians 5:1. There are other verses that align with the founding documents but that is for another post. Clearly the founding fathers established this country with Judaeo-Christian values and that is how they intended it to remain.
So what about today? Are the two major political parties supporting Judeo-Christian values or forging a secular path or even an anti-Judeo-Christian path?
I have created this infographic that compares three important issues facing our country today and their scriptural basis.
So let's break these three areas down: Life, Marriage, and Gender.

Clearly the Democrats support an anti-Biblical practice.
One last thing concerning LGBT rights: In the 2016 DNC platform it states, "We support a progressive vision of religious freedom that respects pluralism and rejects the misuse of religion to discriminate." From what I gather that means the Democrats want to make it so Christian ministers would be forced to marry a homosexual couple or a business would have to cater for a homosexual wedding. These are just two examples of many that would fundamentally change the First Amendment to the Constitution thereby harming freedom of religion.
At the bottom of the infographic you'll see that in 2012 the Democratic party took 'God' out of their platform. And they took out of their platform that they recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. That should tell you everything right there. The Democratic party does not want to be associated with Judaism or Christianity in any way--the faith traditions our country was founded on and has stood on for 240 years. The Democrats, of course, realized repealing God's name and not recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel wouldn't fly, so they hastily put it back in which prompted much booing from the convention floor.
The 2016 Democratic platform has three mentions of God. The 2016 Republican platform has 16 uses of God and all of His synonyms.

Am I saying you can't be a Christian and be a Democrat? No I'm not saying that. What I am asking you to do is first do your own research: read each party platform then pour over scripture by starting with the ones I've given then continue to dig deeper. Then spend time in reflection and prayer over these two political party platforms. Never stop improving the present moment.

Life
Starting with life, scripture has a lot to say on the life God has given us, especially children. Psalm 127:3 states, "Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord." There is absolutely no Biblical foundation for abortion. In fact, the Bible speaks against murdering children which is what abortion accomplishes. Leviticus 20:1-5 states that the Lord commands anyone practicing child sacrifice and anyone who looks away must be executed because they have profaned the giver of life's name and they will be cut off from the rest of their people. Conclusion...there's no room for any kind of child murder or lack of speaking against it. I'm not saying those who perform abortions should be executed; I'm saying Scripture is clear on how detestable the practice is. Not long ago, the movie/TV actor Kelsey Grammer, wore an anti-abortion shirt which sparked outrage from Liberals. His shirt was supplied by Abort73.com which I recommend supporting. We believe unequivocally, like the majority of Americans, that every woman should have access to quality reproductive health care services, including safe and legal abortion.Clearly the Democrats support an anti-Biblical practice.
Marriage
Marriage has become a controversial topic as of late, but it wasn't always that way in America. Honestly, there is no hidden truth to marriage. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 7:2-4, "But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife." Trying to "interpret" the Greek words for homosexual doesn't change the context or meaning. There are zero Scriptures that say "each man should have his own husband." Did God create two men in the beginning? Or two women? If he did how would they procreate? Male and female anatomy was obviously designed by God to perfectly fit together to form a perfect union that resembles oneness yet separate identities just like the Trinity. Scripture says Jesus refers to the church as his bride which cannot be mistake to mean a male. No one hears the word bride and thinks a man. Marriage is between one man and one woman and it is a blessed, holy union and there is no way around it. The Supreme Court thought they had the power to redefine marriage in the case United States v Windsor and forced every state to legalize same-sex marriage in Obergefell v Hodges--which the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scallia strongly condemned.Taken from the 2016 Republican Party Platform:
Traditional marriage and family, based on marriage between one man and one woman, is the foundation for a free society and has for millennia been entrusted with rearing children and instilling cultural values. Democrats applaud last year's decision by the Supreme Court that recognized that LGBT people-like other Americans-have the right to marry the person they love.
Clearly the Democrats support an anti-Biblical practice.
Gender
Our gender is given to us by God. We cannot assign ourselves our own gender...it just doesn't work that way. Paul writes in 1 Cor. 6:19, "Don't you know that...you don't belong to yourselves?" When you claim a different gender than the one you are born with then you are saying God is wrong and He made you incorrectly. How can that be? Believing as such is simply another form of sexual immorality. It is simply not moral to violate your gender and skew your sexuality. Gender and sexuality are completely woven together and they are not separate entities like many wish to define today. Pornography, pre-marital sex, extra-martial sex, homosexuality, trans-sexual, bi-sexual, etc. are all forms of sexuality immorality and not one of them should be given any credence. Now I picked that scripture in the infographic under this section to show God specially made man and woman. God made them with different genders and He did this on purpose. I also state the Republicans don't support legalizing LGBT rights and what I mean by that is the right to marry, the right for men to use woman's bathrooms, the right for a gay couple to force Christians to bake their wedding cake etc. The Democratic party has seen fit to enable the LGBT community instead of showing them true love and help. The Democratic Party platform has paragraphs over LGBT whereas the Republic Platform doesn't say much (and had some debate on what to and to not say) except reaffirming marriage to be between one man and one woman and the platform also strongly disagrees with the reinterpretation of Title IX:That same provision of law is now being used by bureaucrats — and by the current President of the United States (Barack Obama) — to impose a social and cultural revolution upon the American people by wrongly redefining sex discrimination to include sexual orientation or other categories. Their agenda has nothing to do with individual rights; it has everything to do with power. They are determined to reshape our schools — and our entire society — to fit the mold of an ideology alien to America’s history and traditions. Their edict to the states concerning restrooms, locker rooms, and other facilities is at once illegal, dangerous, and ignores privacy issues. We salute the several states which have filed suit against it.Sadly, the Democratic party supports sexual immorality which is contrary to Christian teachings.
